We just launched our new website today. It's funny how an instrument can symbolize so much despite being a random collection of zeros and ones.
Not nearly enough to capture the enormity of what a new website really means to us.
Our first website was launched on a whim. Forced by necessity and a cobbled in haste on Wix so could have something to show. Everything started via a DM on Instagram back in January of 2021.
Back then, Cedric Eveleigh (now of Lal Bikes) used to run an IG account called The North American Bike Project - a sister site to Alex's European Bike Project. Cedric reached out after seeing my post about our SwitchGrade prototype and asked if he could post it on his site. I asked if he could wait till I put something together and he was kind enough to oblige. A couple clumsy button strokes and amateur photos later we had our first website.
Looking back now, that first website was a mess but it did its job and delivered information. Nothing more, nothing less. No ecommerce capabilities but we didn't need it then as we only had a few prototypes and test mules. We just needed somewhere for people to land on when they 'presumably' clicked Cedric's post share. Little did we know...
Here's what he shared
Boy were we surprised.
That simple DM, subsequent post share, and resultant traffic spawned a barrage of inquiries, comments, and more share. At the time, this was as viral as it got for us. A universe of 500 eyeballs might as well been 5 billion, the effect was the same. We were gobsmacked.
This singular event had a massive domino effect ultimately leading to pushing up our beta launch date.
Our second website was a major overhaul with "pro-quality" photos (by that I mean my Apple Iphone Pro) and ecommerce capabilities, fancy videos, testimonials and all the bells and whistles.
And now we're here stepping things up once more with an all new look, real pro photos, 3D animations, and a new "PRO" video coming soon.
But as cool as the new website it's just a start onto something much bigger.
It's a new day for AENOMALY.
We're evolving.
